The reason for this is that you must have CFW (Custom Firmware)installed on the PSP. I take no responsibility for damages to your PSP. Sorry for the length, it is my first guide, and meant for complete noobs.

UPDATE: For those with the newer PSPGo (psp3000+) and/or the newer PSP batteries that are unable to be pandora hacked, read link at bottom.

Requirements:

PSP
Pandoras Battery
MMS (Magic Memory Stick)
Another NORMAL battery (Workaround to this)
X-acto knife or needle

Magic Memory Stick

You will need to create a magic memory stick, I believe you need atleast 1 GB of memory for this. You can create this memory stick with a program that is called Totalnewbieasyinstaller. The installer is available at the bottom of the guide, big thanks to FTA-SPOT for hosting the file on their servers.

Once you download and extract that software, format your memory stick from your PSP. Put your PSP in USB mode, and run Start.EXE from the Easy Installer. Follow the instructions on the software. Toward the end it will give you options 1-4, select the universal unbricker. I ran this software from Windows 7 and it always gave me an error at the end, so I had to run it from XP.

Pandora Battery

Once the MMS is created, we need to create the pandora battery. You need to slide something around the side of your PSP battery, in this case I used an x-acto knife. Once it is open you will see a little green motherboard/daughterboard. Lift this down a bit and pull out the black square piece of plastic between the battery and motherboard, so you have more room. There will be 2 chips, one smaller then the other. We are working with the smaller one. Look for ICO4 or CO4 and you will find the chip. You will need to cut/lift pin 5, which is the top left pin looking at the motherboard from the flat side down. There is an alternative method on how to do this. Below the chip you will see a 19 backwards. There should be a line beside the 1, cut the line with an x-acto knife. This second method allows for an easier way to bring the battery back to normal. Picture attached displaying where to cut.

Installing

Once that line or pin is cut ( I recommend the line, unless you have an extra battery ) close the battery up, and tape it up. Without any memory stick inserted, insert the battery into the PSP. Your PSP should turn on, but not display anything. This means you have a pandora battery. Take out the battery, insert the memory stick, and then insert the pandora battery. The WLAN and MMS light on the left side of the PSP should glow for a second. If it does, press X, and let it run for about 5 minutes. Once it is done, your psp will turn off automatically. Take out the pandora battery, and run your psp from the wall charger or a normal battery. Check your system information for firmware version, it should display 3.71 M33.

Battery Recovery

For those who do not want to spend money on a second normal battery, simply open your pandora battery up, take a mechanical lead pencil, and draw back the line you cut, this will restore the circuit. Insert it back into your psp, and your PSP should boot as normal. If it does not, open the battery again and draw the line a little harder.

Installing/Playing Games

Once your PSP is modded, format the memory stick. Put your downloaded games into the ISO folder. Make sure you uncompress your downloaded games until you see a single .ISO file. Next, in your PSP, press the select button, this will bring the recovery menu. Scroll down to UMD mode, and select Sony NP9660. Your games should now appear in Games ---> Memory Stick.

Newer PSP's/Batteries
For those with the newer PSPGo,and those with the original PSP, but the newer battery that cannot be made a pandora battery ( You have this battery if it is made in Japan, you don't if it is made in China.) As it states, it does come with a down factor, once you install the Custom Firmware (Gen A or higher) which you need to play downloaded games, you cannot turn off your PSP, only put into standby, as you will need to reinstall the CFW if you do turn it off.

Players, prepare to profess your allegiance to either Cosmos or Chaos...Cosmos is the goddess of harmony, while Chaos is the god of discord. Reigning from distant realms, the two gods had gathered warriors from all lands to lead them in savage war. At one time Cosmos and Chaos were of equal in strength. It was believed that their conflict would last forever. However, the balance is now broken. Those who answered Chaos' call created an inexhaustible force. And under vicious attack without relent, the warriors fighting for Cosmos started to fall one by one. The conflict that has continued for eons is now about to end in Chaos' favor...The world has been torn asunder, sinking into a vortex of disorder. As for the few surviving warriors… their fates have yet to be determined.

Gameplay:

Featuring action very similar to other games in the Final Fantasy series, Dissidia Final Fantasy consists of one-on-one combat either against a human or AI opponent where the goal is to reduces your opponent's hit points to zero. This is done through a series of attacks and battle features which must be balanced against the player's status and that of the opponent faced. In addition, the game also features "EX Mode" which increases the power of existing attacks. This mode can be activated in a variety of ways, both related to combat and chance.

Characters:

Dissidia Final Fantasy features characters from both sides of the struggle from each of the games in the Final Fantasy series. Although favorites will soon be found, the storyline of game's main campaign requires players to assume the role of each of these characters at one point or another in order to attain ultimate success. All told the game contains twenty-two total playable characters from Final Fantasy through Final Fantasy X; evenly split between heroes and villains. In addition, players can also look forward to playing as a few secret characters unlockable in the game. Regardless of the character, players will find that each will become more powerful as they gain experience in battle, have access to different costumes and in most cases are able to transform into different physical forms in specific modes. The equipment each wields is also fully customizable.
